This treatment is ideal if you want to remove superficial thread veins,

How Does it work?
A gel may be applied to the skin, the IPL or Laser is then absorbed by the blood inside the veins, heating up the vessel wall, this then collapses and then dissolves. This will then be reabsorbed through the body. There will be no damage to the surrounding skin.
What does the treatment feel like?
Most people find the treatment tolerable, it is similar to the flick of an elastic band on the skin. An air cooler will be used on the skin to pre-cool the area and will be used during treatment to numb the area. Emla cream can also be supplied to put on the treatment area if required. We stock these and they retail at £3.00. Normal activities can be resumed immediately afterwards.
What can I expect after treatment?
Immediately after treatment the veins will disappear but may reappear a few days later only smaller this is why a few treatment may be required. The skin may be red, this will subside with-in a few hours. There is a small chance of blistering or bruising but this will settle within a few days. There is a small risk of the skin lightening or darkening, but this is very rare.
Thread veins can be hereditary and may reappear with time so regular maintenance top ups will be requires. Wearing a good sunscreen will help to protect the skin from further damage.
How many treatments will I need?
A course of 2 to 5 treatments is recommended at monthly intervals.
